Maine Media Magic

My Adventure as Head Counselor to a Group of Talented Teens

As the head counselor at Maine Media Workshop and College in Rockport, Maine, I was responsible for overseeing a group of talented and driven teenagers who were taking workshops on filmmaking, photography, writing, and printmaking.

One of the most rewarding aspects of this job was being asked to be a part of several projects created and directed by the young artists. Their creative minds and zest for life were an honor to witness, and I was always impressed by the innovative and engaging work they produced. During my time at Maine Media, I was fortunate enough to be included in a number of these projects, which allowed me to see firsthand the incredible talent and potential of these young artists.

While my time as head counselor at Maine Media was certainly challenging, it was also incredibly fun. Seeing the students grow and develop over the course of the workshop was truly inspiring, and the work they produced at the Friday showcases was often superior to that of the adult students. I will always look back on my time at Maine Media and feel grateful for the opportunity to have played a supportive role in the development of these talented young people.
