Travel Time Capsule
Retracing my grandfathers steps
Right before I left for my backpacking trip in 2017, I found some old photographs of my grandpa from when he was serving in the American military during WWII. To my knowledge, this was the only time my grandpa every visited our ancestral homeland of Italy.
I scanned the old photographs into my phone and silently made a pact with myself to try to visit and recreate these images during my trip.
They were taken mostly in places I was planning to visit anyway, so it wasn’t terribly difficult!

By my estimation these photos were taken approximately 70 years apart!!
And they same time travel isn’t real…
